La Chapelle Sainte Claire
The Sainte-Claire Chapel 15th Century.
This chapel which dates back to the 15th Century went through embellishments in the 17th and 19th century. Its façade, topped by a triangular pediment, is overlooked by three pinnacles covered by a pyramid of Italian style. It used to be a place where official visitors to St Paul were received. Nearby, the remains of an old water mill, which used to produce olive oil, is a reminder of what was one of the main resources of the village Juliano Mancini's paintings and sculptures are currently on exhibit there. The celebration of Sainte-Claire, patron saint of St Paul, on 12th August, is the occasion of exceptional celebrations, and especially the unique "Blazing of the village" (Bengal fires on the ramparts).
