Museums in Saint-Paul
THE MAEGHT FOUNDATION
Created in 1964, the Maeght Foundation is a unique example of what a private foundation in Europe can be. Located in an exceptional wooded setting, its architecture was specially designed to present all facets of modern and contemporary art. The foundation owns a substantial collection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and drawings from the 20th Century.
Master-pieces from late artists such as Arp, Bonnard, Braque, Calder, Chagall, Dubuffet, Giacometti, Kandinsky, Leger, Matisse, Miro... can be viewed next to those of Alechinsky, Sam Francis, Hartung, Soulages... or even  some from several outstanding artists of the younger generation.
